DaktentDump started in the middle of nowhere, somewhere between an overheated engine in the Sahara and an empty tank on the savannah.
We are two friends, a mechanic and a designer. Over the past few years we have devoured miles from the Netherlands to Ghana, taken months off when we could, and done what most brands only pretend to do, actually use our stuff.
Delve into overlanding
Like most people, we bought what was available. Rooftop tents from "premium" brands, pre-made gear with inflated names and a high price tag. Gear that looked great in a YouTube review, but let us down as soon as the weather turned or the bolts started rattling loose. The more we delved into overlanding, the clearer it became: the gear just can't keep up.
What's available these days are overpriced tents designed by marketing teams, or cheap junk built to last a weekend.
Our own brand
So we started our own company. On the road, somewhere in Northern Ghana, with a simple mission: Create the next generation of roof tents. Tents that are smart, stylish and purpose-built for regular overlanders. Tents that don’t cost a fortune. Tents we would actually want to use.
